M HKA - Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp and Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, announce a Research Fellowship for an artist, curator, writer or thinker. The research grant will facilitate a period of research for up to twelve months, leading to the creation of two projects to be presented by M HKA and Van Abbemuseum respectively in 2021. The fellowship will be part of the 'Our Many Europes' program and the proposals should engage critically with the constructs of internationalism, transnationalism, globalization and Eurasia. The curatorial team of The Cyprus Pavillion is seeking projects that will be part of its exhibition, publication, and events program during the International Architecture Exhibition - Venice Biennale 2021. Responding to the theme Anachoresis: Upon Inhabiting Distances, the proposals should explore the issue of collective space and question how current architectural practices are influencing the notion of collective space physically, socially or/and politically. The call is addressed to young architects of all nationalities who live and work in Cyprus, Cypriot architects who live and work abroad or multi-disciplinary collectives including at least one young Cypriot architect. CERN, the European Laboratory for Particle Physics launches a new edition of the Collide Residency Award granting one artist or a collective of any nationality a fully funded residency at CERN, Geneva and in Barcelona. The chosen artist will be expected to interact with the CERN
scientific community and have a distinct interest in transdisciplinary approaches, scientific thinking and fundamental science. Deadline is 7 December. Read the application terms here.
Clairvoyants, an international competition for children's book illustration, invites authors, illustrators and graphic designers, to submit a project (draft) of an illustrated children’s book in Polish or in English. L'Art Rue, in the framework of All-Around Culture, launches an open call addressed to
young artists, collectives, researchers, civil society activists and cultural operators based in Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, and the diaspora from Syria and Libya. Applicants are free to present innovative project ideas from all artistic fields, engaging with local communities and developed with and for their territory. Deadline is 25 December. Global Health 50/50 invites photographers to participate with their works in the competition 'This is Gender' by sharing their vision of gender while exploring the diverse ways in which gender norms are lived and subverted. Deadline is 3 January. Submit your works here.
Little Islands Festival | Moving Image & Sound invites artists of all nationalities who are experimenting with new forms of audiovisual arts and media to apply for 'Living Environments', an open call for site-specific projects. Ashkal Alwan is launching the 10th edition of the Home Workspace Program, a ten-month arts study program open to artists, writers and cultural workers from Lebanon and the world. The program offers lectures, seminars and workshops providing the enrolled fellows with feedback and resources to facilitate and support their art practice. The Onassis Foundation has launched the Emergency Fellowships 2020/21 program for artists and curators of all nationalities to provide support through volatile situations around the world, time-sensitive artistic research, or unanticipated professional needs.
