Mophradat is offering grants to Lebanon-based art projects that activate dialogue amongst the art community, restructure resources towards broader equality in accessing opportunities and investigate the possibilities at the intersections of art and activism. CAHIER d'images publishes booklets by contemporary artists and is currently seeking photographic works in black and white in collaboration with guest curator Eliana Morte. Deadline is 02 May. Apply with your work here.

Tuwaiq International Sculpture Symposium invites international and Saudi artists to create public sculptures in a live setting during a 22-day symposium. The works will be on view for 5 days after the Symposium, before moving to various outdoor locations across the city. Organized by Riyadh Art, the call is open to stone sculptors of all nationalities with at least five years of experience exhibiting works permanently or temporarily in outdoor spaces or galleries. Artwork Archive's Art Business Accelerator Grant provides visual artists funds to invest in their art business, as well as six weeks of self-guided online educational resources and more. Applications are open to both emerging and established artists, 21 and older, who are working intentionally to better their communities. Deadline is 14 May. KÖR invites artists, architects, urban designers, landscape architects, cultural creatives and initiatives to propose projects implemented in the Floridsdorf district, Vienna. The projects should address climate change in the area, under the theme of 'The Weather of Tomorrow'. The call to local and international participants. Deadline is 15 May. Apply here.

The Salzburger Kunstverein announces the inaugural call for the 2021 Sunset Kino Award for excellence in contemporary film and video. The award is for professional artists aged 35 and under, working in contemporary film or video. Artists should submit films or videos they have made since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis. The City of Athens has announced an open call for performing artists (music, dance, theatre) who wish to book the city's public venues for free. The City of Athens will provide the venue, equipment and technicians for free. Proposals may be submitted only by email at cultureinathens@gmail.com. Deadline is 20 May. More info in Greek here.

Dancing on the Edge Festival is looking for contemporary dance and theater performances, as well as, multimedia and performance installations and more for its next edition. Artists and practitioners from the region of the Middle East and North Africa and its diaspora are particularly welcome to apply. This year's theme is 'Rituals of Change' and the festival will be in a hybrid live and online form. Deadline is 25 May. Read more and apply here.

Centro Huarte, Navarre, Spain offers an international residency programme for two or more Europe-based artists identifying as a collective in the framework of the European program 'Who Cares?'. The residency will take place in Habitación in Centro Huarte and projects are encouraged to investigate care and affective practices in relation to the current global situation. Deadline is 27 May. Localize festival, Potsdam, seeks ideas for its next edition taking place in August. The works proposed should explore the urban space in transition, interspaces for design and the potentials of participation and will be implemented in and around the Babelsberg Park. Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto is now accepting applications for the Caravan Residency Program: Thinking with Alexandria. The project aims to survey the European cities of Athens, Brussels, Marseille, and Nicosia, through the lens of Alexandria an its contested urban imaginaries. The programme is open to emerging to mid-career artists and activists informed by and concerned with archival research, knowledge production, placemaking, and/or community-based engagement. Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto is also accepting applications for the Nomadic Mediterranean Residency Programme: Politics of Heritage - School for sonic memory. The call is aimed at anyone engaged in the study, protection or production of collective urban memory — in the form of built heritage, soundscape, music, stories, social and political practice, with sound as a primary medium of research. Selected participants will be invited to work in Athens, Alexandria and Marseille over the course of six months. Deadline is 30 May. Read more and apply here.

The REAKTOR, Vienna, launches an open call for concepts entitled Potenziale and designed to seek out the potential in the visual arts. The selected proposals will be implemented during a one-week residency in summer 2021 and then showcased as part of an exhibition in October 2021. Deadline is 31 May. Apply with your concept here.

For its 12th edition, the Athens Ethnographic Film Festival is seeking ethnographic and anthropological films, as well as ethnographically-minded documentary films. Anthropologists, social scientists, documentary filmmakers or students are invited to apply. The films submitted should respond to one of the four open sections; Student Films, Panorama, Filmic Experiments in Ethnography and this year’s Themed Section “Romanticism: Cameras, Enchantment and the Real“. The Journal of Greek Media & Culture has issued an open call for its open-themed issue 8.1 (spring 2021). The editors invite contributions on any topic related to the media and/or culture of Greece, from a contemporary or historical perspective and from a multiplicity of disciplinary and theoretical viewpoints. Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, Singapore, invites artists, curators, programmers, writers, researchers, and practitioners to apply for its inaugural Contemporary Performing Arts Research Residency. The call is open to international artists and offers two types of support; Artist-in-Residence and Researcher-in-Residence. The proposed projects should explore the current theme; Potential Territorialities: Body, Space and Identity in Performance. Deadline is 31 May. Read more and apply here.

Feminist Autonomous Centre for Research (FAC Research) has issued a call for participants for the Feminist No Borders Summer School that will take place online between 14-16 June 2021. Deadline is 07 June. Read more and register here.

Pure Design Contest is an international furniture design contest giving the opportunity to design professionals, amateurs, students and graduates of art schools to win prizes and have their projects presented at prestigious furniture fairs. This year’s theme is “A child’s place in public space – an inclusive table and chair for learning and playing”. The goal is to design a piece or a set of furniture for children reflecting the idea for a creative and inclusive workspace. Deadline is 20 June. Apply here.

Submissions are now open for the online edition of Fanzineist Vienna Art Book & Zine Fair 2021 that will take place between 26 July-26 August. Registration is open to anyone who publishes art books and zines. Deadline for exhibitors is 20 June. Read more here.

Independent journal A) GLIMPSE) OF) is accepting submissions for the issue The Junta Trap. The issue will highlight violations of human rights, police violence and state control of the media in Greece. The editor is looking for poems and artworks in solidarity to those who resist. The Fondation d’entreprise Hermès supports the creation of new performance works from their production and rehearsal stages through to their public presentation through its New Settings program. Carapelli for Art international award for visual arts, is open to all professional visual artists of various artistic fields and to students of fine arts academies. This year's theme is 'sustainability' and there is no restriction to the medium and size of the submitted works. Deadline is 03 July. Read more and apply here.

Zhejiang Conservatory of Music accepts applications for the 2021 Hangzhou Contemporary Music Festival "Artinno Award" International Orchestral Composition Competition. Prices will be awarded to six orchestra pieces from young composers, under 40 years old, from around the world. Deadline is 15 July. Read more here.

Sharjah, UAE - The Africa Institute announces a group of fellowships awarded through its Research Fellowships Program, giving the opportunity for both junior and senior scholars of African and African diaspora studies to focus on a research project and participate in ongoing scholarly and intellectual activities in the institution. C-PLATFORM invites artists, curators, designers and other creative practitioners to apply for its residency program at the Xi·Art Museum located in Lucitopia Town, Fuzhou City, China. The projects should respond to the current theme 'Fantasy Land'. Deadline is 31 July. Apply and read more here.

Goethe-Institut created a virtual residency program to provide funding for international musical collaboration projects. The residency aims to support solo artists and small ensembles from Germany and abroad working on joint research, compositions, concept and project development, pre-productions or innovative online projects. PULPO GALLERY is now accepting submissions for its 2022 OPEN CALL SOLO SHOW, awarding the winner an all-expenses-paid solo show at PULPO GALLERY in 2022. Entries can be any form of 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional art. Deadline is 31 October. Application deadlines here.

PS:, an artist-run space in Athens, has issued an open call for works made during the past year for an exhibition that will take place when art spaces in Athens are finally allowed to open. There is no deadline mentioned. Read more here.

The Onassis Foundation has launched the Emergency Fellowships 2020/21 program for artists and curators of all nationalities to provide support through volatile situations around the world, time-sensitive artistic research, or unanticipated professional needs. The fellowship consists of a stipend, as well as support from the Οnassis AiR team. Selection is done on a rolling basis throughout the year. Read more and apply here.
