Independent journal A) GLIMPSE) OF) is accepting submissions for the issue The Junta Trap. The issue will highlight violations of human rights, police violence and state control of the media in Greece. The editor is looking for poems and artworks in solidarity to those who resist. The Royal Museum for Central Africa is accepting applications for its current residency program focusing on environmental knowledge, as well as, colonial history and colonial memories, and the African cultural heritage in Europe and Africa. The call is addressed to artists, musicians, journalists, architects, engineers and other creatives. Deadline is 11 June. Further information can be found here.

The Art Gallery of Mississauga welcomes submissions from LGBTQ+ emerging artists, aged between 18 and 35, to participate in the RBC LOVE LAB project. Artists will be guided by a team of mentors and partners. They will also receive an honorarium and will participate in a showcase of their work. Deadline is 11 June. Read more and apply here.

The Garage Digital grant program invites artists and researchers to explore the idea of multiple coexisting worlds and ways of creating them. The program is open to international artists and groups applying with projects for in any medium that allows for exhibition and distribution online. Projects must respond to the season’s theme 'Situated Worlds.' Deadline is 12 June. Apply here.

arebyte launches an open call for digital artists working online and who self-identify as disabled to be exhibited on the online platform On Screen. The current theme is 'Realities' while digital animations, videos, web-based interactive experiences, and curatorial interventions are all accepted. Deadline is 13 June. Delfina Foundation and Gaia Art Foundation are launching the fifth edition of The Politics of Food, a series of residencies and public programs. This year's focus will be the climate emergency and the call is open to a variety of responses, particularly interdisciplinary collaborations between artists, curators, and researchers. French Institute Greece is offering two-month research residencies for ceramic artists on the Greek island of Rhodes. This residency programme encourages the crossover between existing cultural heritage and contemporary issues of ceramic art. Deadline is 15 June. More information here.

Pure Design Contest is an international furniture design contest giving the opportunity to design professionals, amateurs, students, and graduates of art schools to win prizes and have their projects presented at prestigious furniture fairs. This year’s theme is A child’s place in public space – an inclusive table and chair for learning and playing”. The goal is to design a piece or a set of furniture for children reflecting the idea for a creative and inclusive workspace. Deadline is 20 June. Apply here.

Submissions are now open for the online edition of Fanzineist Vienna Art Book & Zine Fair 2021 that will take place between 26 July-26 August. Registration is open to anyone who publishes art books and zines. Deadline for exhibitors is 20 June. Read more here.

Idensitat and Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Huarte offer a residency to one artist, or a collective of artists, to develop a project within the social context of the towns of Huarte, Burlada and Villava (Navarra), Spain. The residency is part of the Transversal Aesthetics program and is proposed as a hybrid of on-site and remote format. Deadline is 23 June. Read more here.

Kyber Theatre launches the 8th Edition of the International Theatre, Art and New Technologies Festival (LMDP8) in Cagliari, Italy, and invites artists to submit their projects on the interaction between arts and technologies. The Fondation d’entreprise Hermès supports the creation of new performance works from their production and rehearsal stages through to their public presentation through its New Settings program. Carapelli for Art international award for visual arts, is open to all professional visual artists of various artistic fields and to students of fine arts academies. This year's theme is 'sustainability' and there is no restriction to the medium and size of the submitted works. Deadline is 03 July. Read more and apply here.

The 15th Japan International Manga Award is now accepting applications by manga artists all over the world. Eligible MANGA works should be produced within the past three years and should be more than 16 pages long. Deadline is 08 July. Apply here.

Zhejiang Conservatory of Music accepts applications for the 2021 Hangzhou Contemporary Music Festival "Artinno Award" International Orchestral Composition Competition. Prices will be awarded to six orchestra pieces from young composers, under 40 years old, from around the world. Deadline is 15 July. Read more here.

Sharjah, UAE - The Africa Institute announces a group of fellowships awarded through its Research Fellowships Program, giving the opportunity for both junior and senior scholars of African and African diaspora studies to focus on a research project and participate in ongoing scholarly and intellectual activities in the institution. Athens Design Forum, a new showcase for collectible design, is now accepting applications for its first edition that will take place between 30 September-07 October. Proposals may include exhibitions, talks, workshops and open studios. Deadline is 17 July. More details and the application form can be found here.

Goethe-Institut created a virtual residency program to provide funding for international musical collaboration projects. The residency aims to support solo artists and small ensembles from Germany and abroad working on joint research, compositions, concept and project development, pre-productions or innovative online projects. C-PLATFORM invites artists, curators, designers and other creative practitioners to apply for its residency program at the Xi·Art Museum located in Lucitopia Town, Fuzhou City, China. The projects should respond to the current theme 'Fantasy Land'. Deadline is 31 July. Apply and read more here.

To celebrate its 120 years, Majolika Karslruhe is organising the Majolika Award for Contemporary Ceramic Art 2021. The theme of the competition is "the next Majolika icon". Applicants must be from EU countries. Deadline is 15 August. Read more and apply here.

Zebrastraat, Belgium is launching NTAA, an international competition open to all age groups and to all nationalities. NTAA selects and presents artistic works in which the role of technology occupies a central place. Prizes will be awarded to the winning artists. Deadline is 31 August. Apply and read more here.

PULPO GALLERY is now accepting submissions for its 2022 OPEN CALL SOLO SHOW, awarding the winner an all-expenses-paid solo show at PULPO GALLERY in 2022. Entries can be any form of 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional art. Deadline is 31 October. Application deadlines here.

The Onassis Foundation has launched the Emergency Fellowships 2020/21 program for artists and curators of all nationalities to provide support through volatile situations around the world, time-sensitive artistic research, or unanticipated professional needs. The fellowship consists of a stipend, as well as support from the Οnassis AiR team. Selection is done on a rolling basis throughout the year. Read more and apply here.
