Six artists present their work within an environment that still holds the cracks of a private space repurposed into an open-to-the public space. The title of the exhibition Six impossible things before breakfast, suggests that in-between moment in time, when the grounds where each one stands is agitated by the precariousness of feeling that we are neither asleep nor awake; before being fuelled by the action of breaking our fast.
The exhibition brings together different practices, bound together by their insistence to venture into facets of experience which carry potential as procedural tools of grafting. Grafting here suggests a creative branching of gestures, imbued by an awareness of reciprocity. WE ARE BUD takes on the texture of an experiment, a laboratory of impossible things that require a certain leap into worlds where Alice travels to all directions at once and the thought of being remains in a state of becoming.
Through the creation of (im)possible worlds, the participant artists condition alternative economies of meaning where games of scale and appropriation of identities carry the weight of an impossible thought: will we eat words or will words eat us.

Artists’ Short Bios
Raissa Angeli (b.1986) is based in Nicosia, Cyprus. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Prague (AVU) in 2011 with an MA in Sculpture. In 2017 her solo show Cosmicomics, was hosted at Thkio Ppalies, Nicosia. In 2015 she organised a curated event, Mountain, the, at Alatou space, Nicosia. Stella N. Christou organises sounds and words. She was born in 1979 in Askas village in Nicosia district, Cyprus. She grew up in Athens. She studied piano, guitar, drawing, classical music, vineyards, music theory, theology, mathematics, flute, poetry and philosophy. Her ongoing archive of electroacoustic compositions consists of field recordings, human voices and sounds of objects/situations/actions. She designs, writes and performs music for theatre, for dance, for movies, for artistic events, for the ones she loves. She is a founding member of the OuterStella production team which released in 2016 the album ΝΙ•ΚΟ with 14 of her compositions.
Nurtane Karagil (b. 1989, London, UK) studied Fine Arts at the University of Hacettepe and holds an MA from the University of Brighton. She is currently art lecturer at the Eastern Mediterranean University in Famagusta, Cyprus. Maria Toumazou (b. 1989, Nicosia) is based in Nicosia, Cyprus. She holds a BA in Art Practice from Goldsmiths College in 2011 and an MFA from Glasgow School of Art in 2014. In 2013 she co-founded Neoterismoi Toumazou (Neo Toum), a project space and a collective in Nicosia. She is also co-founder of the publishing imprint MARIA†. editions based in Nicosia and New York. In 2016 she published her first collection of poems, Gee. Marina Xenofontos (b. 1988, Limassol, Cyprus) studied at Goldsmiths, University of London and Bard College, Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts in NY. From January 2018 she will be a resident at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. In 2016 she published the archive of Christophoros Kyriakides under the title We are not alone - We are a fly in the milk of infinity. She is a member of the collective Neoterismoi Toumazou (Neo Toum) that curates a fashion label, artist books and exhibitions.
