Ibrida, Festival of Intermedia Arts is launching an open call for its 2021 edition, to be held in April 2021 in Forlì (Italy). The festival is particularly focused on video art, live performance, AV performance, installation, and virtual reality. Deadline is 26 February. Apply with your work here.

Onassis AiR is accepting applications for the second year of The School of Infinite Rehearsals. Artists, curators, designers, activists, collectives, educators, legal advocates, performance makers, economists, architects, filmmakers and other practitioners from any medium of expression or discipline are encouraged to apply. La Vienísima is accepting submissions by women photographers for the feminist photography contest PERSPEKTIV_A on the occasion of International Women's Day. The theme of the competition is Women In The Rural World and the works submitted should be unpublished. Deadline is 27 February. Read more here.

Forecast offers artistic practitioners and cultural producers working in all creative fields and anywhere in the world, the opportunity to receive mentorship towards the creation of future projects. The COAL Prize dedicates its 2021 edition to the issue of forests at the center of the climate crisis and ecological transition and invites artists from all over the world to apply with projects that will be produced during a residency offered by the Museum of Hunting and Nature at the Belval Domaine, France. apexart will be receiving curatorial proposals for its annual Open Calls. Winning proposals become part of apexart’s next exhibition season and receive funding and staff support. Deadline is 01 March. Read more and apply here.

London-based queer imprint Pilot Press is seeking responses in any medium to the 1986 collaborative studio album The Moon and the Melodies by Harold Budd, Elizabeth Fraser, Robin Guthrie and Simon Raymonde, for the first in a new literary / arts pamphlet series. Light Moves Festival of Screendance invites dance and media artists to participate in the residency-based platform Open Futures 2021. The project will enable 8 artists, consisting of 4 collaborating pairs, to explore the potential interdisciplinary exchanges between dance and digital arts. Deadline is 05 March. Apply here.

Victoria Square Project launches Station One 2021, a series of three-month residencies for emerging artists from Greece and from countries with significant migrant and refugee presence in the area of Victoria Square, Athens, Greece. Having Johannes Pfuhl’s sculpture of Hippodamia in Victoria Square as its focal point, the project aims to engage current debates about greek history and identity. As part of the fourth interdisciplinary exchange program between Leipzig and Thessaloniki, HALLE 14 – Centre for Contemporary Art Leipzig invites artists and authors living in Greece to apply for an eight-week residency in Leipzig, Germany.The project planned for the residency should relate artistically or literarily to the past, present and/or future of the partner cities. Concéntrico 07 - International Festival of Architecture and Design, Logroño, Spain, launches three competitions for the creation of one pavilion and two installations. The calls are open to international participation and the projects should reflect on the urban environment and the city through different formats of architecture and design. Deadline is 11 March. Places Journal is now accepting applications for its new Critics-in-Residence in Architecture and Landscape Architecture program, seeking to encourage authors in the production of wide-ranging, conceptually rich, and culturally ambitious essays on architecture and landscape architecture. VRAM! Virtual Reality & Arts Festival is seeking artists or organizations working in the field of interactive arts who want to develop an already existing project by exploring the possibilities of 3D-scanning technologies. VRAM! is offering a one-week residency in Marseille, technical and production support and funds, as well as, showcasing and networking opportunities. Deadline is 15 March. Read more and apply here.

The National Museum of Natural History and Science of the University of Porto (MHNC-UP) invites designers and creatives from any field or background to submit their ideas for the competition entitled 'The Power of Design: re-establishing embodied conviviality beyond covid-19'. The ideas proposed should not be based on digital technologies, but capable of promoting safe face-to-face conviviality in times of health emergency. Deadline is 15 March. Apply with your idea here.

NAM – Not a Museum presents SUPERBLAST, a residency program that will be held at Manifattura Tabacchi, Florence, Italy. The proposed projects should be addressing urgent issues such as the relationship between nature and culture, humans and other species, the individual and the community. For its 5th edition, SMACH BIENNALE seeks artistic installations and works of art to be exhibited in ten different natural locations in Val Badia, Dolomites. Solo artists or groups may apply with works reflecting on this year's key-word; FRAGILE. Deadline is 28 March. Submit your work here.

Petrohradská kolektiv in Prague announces an open call for artists to participate in an international Artist in Residence programme for the year 2021. The residence program is intended for active artists, creators, and theoreticians. The first round of selected applicants will have their accommodation fees covered, whereas a second round will be invited to pay a fee. Deadline is 30 March. More information here.

TANZAHOi International Dance and Dance Film Festival seeks international dance productions to be live-streamed for its 2021 digital edition, Take Part in Another World. The selected works will receive funding to optimize their works for a live-stream production. Deadline is 31 March. Apply with your work here.

The city of Elevsis - European Capital of Culture in 2023 - invites artists, groups and organizations from Greece and abroad to submit proposals for new projects/actions that will be part of its program entitled MYSTERIES of TRANSITION, in 2022 and 2023. Restless Books, an independent, non-profit publisher based in Brooklyn, is accepting submissions for the Restless Books Prize for New Immigrant Writing. The prize was created in 2016 to honor outstanding debut literary works by first-generation immigrants, awarded for fiction and nonfiction in alternating years. The winner receives $10,000 and publication by Restless Books. Deadline is 31 March. Read more here.

The Alpine Fellowship awards the Visual Arts Prize for the best visual arts response to the theme of Untamed: On Wilderness and Civilization. The call is open to all nationalities and all artistic fields are permitted including but not limited to painting, sculpture, video, and installation. Deadline is 01 April. Driving the Human invites designers, artists, scientists, initiatives, and agents from any field of expertise, to submit projects combining science, technology, and the arts in a transdisciplinary and collaborative approach. The works proposed should engage with the present and propose alternatives to current developments and disruptions in society and the environment. Deadline is 09 April. Apply here.

UNESCO invites postgraduate researchers under the age of 35 to apply for the 2021 ‘Silk Roads Youth Research Grant’. The research grants will be awarded to projects that further the study of the Silk Roads' heritage, while multidisciplinary and multidimensional proposals and a wide array of research fields are eligible. The REAKTOR, Vienna, launches an open call for concepts entitled Potenziale and designed to seek out the potential in the visual arts. The selected proposals will be implemented during a one-week residency in summer 2021 and then showcased as part of an exhibition in October 2021. Deadline is 31 May. Apply with your concept here.

Goethe-Institut created a virtual residency program to provide funding for international musical collaboration projects. The residency aims to support solo artists and small ensembles from Germany and abroad working on joint research, compositions, concept and project development, pre-productions or innovative online projects. The Onassis Foundation has launched the Emergency Fellowships 2020/21 program for artists and curators of all nationalities to provide support through volatile situations around the world, time-sensitive artistic research, or unanticipated professional needs. The fellowship consists of a stipend, as well as support from the Οnassis AiR team. Selection is done on a rolling basis throughout the year. Read more and apply here.

The Journal of Greek Media & Culture has issued an open call for its open-themed issue 8.1 (spring 2021). The editors invite contributions on any topic related to the media and/or culture of Greece, from a contemporary or historical perspective and from a multiplicity of disciplinary and theoretical viewpoints.
