For the fourth continuous year, the Master in Fine Arts students at the Athens School of Fine Arts are organising an open-studio event, where they exhibit recent and in-progress work. This is an initiative organised directly from the students without the involvement of their school, which was initiated in 2017 by then MFA student Maria Mavropoulou and a handful of her peers.
The MFA Open Studios are an important annual event for the student community at ASFA because it is one of the few public-facing activities at the school and also one of the few instances where the students in the fine art course interact with their fellow students in the art theory course. Young curators and theorists from ASFA's Art History programme have contributed to this year's Open Studios, offering curatorial and theoretical support to the exhibiting artists.
The three-day event kicks off tomorrow evening, and will continue through Sunday. The map at the end of this article will help you locate the MFA studios within ASFA campus.
